Feeling overwhelmed designing the perfect men's wedding band? We've got you covered! Learn more about the top things to consider when designing your perfect custom band with your Diamond Concierge.

Band Type: Comfort Fit vs. Flat Fit

The first thing to consider when choosing your wedding band is whether you prefer a flat or comfort fit band. A traditional, or "flat" fit, is flat on the interior of the band, resulting in a uniform diameter from one edge to the other that lays completely flush against the finger. A comfort fit band is a more recently created style, and features a more rounded interior. As a result, rings in a comfort fit style tend to place less pressure on the finger and are easier to slide on over larger finger knuckles. While a flat fit can be an excellent choice for those who prefer a sleek, modern look, a comfort fit may be a better option for those with very active lifestyles or who frequently work with their hands.

Due to the rounded interior, comfort fit bands can size differently than flat fit rings. Be sure to ask your concierge for sizing assistance!

Band Width: Wide vs. Narrow

The next thing to consider is band width, and whether you prefer a wider or more narrow band.

A narrow wedding band (typically between 2mm-6mm) often works better if you have a ring size smaller than a size 9. They are also generally less expensive than a wider wedding band of the same metal, and look less unwieldy on slimmer fingers, or if you have a slimmer build.

A wider wedding band (more than 6mm) may be more suitable for those with a ring size above a size 9, or for those with larger hands, or who are simply larger in size, period. While wedding bands increase in price proportionately to the band width, a wider band will likely stand out more and make more of a statement than a narrower one.

Make it Your Own: Choose Your Style

Once you've selected your band style and width, you'll want to decide on the details that make your ring perfect. A wedding band that you wear every day should complement your fashion sense and your own personal style.
